Why I am running
Hamilton is a great place to live — but we can’t take that for granted. I’m running for Hamilton City Council West Ward to protect the services our communities rely on, push back against short-sighted austerity, and focus on long-term solutions that make our city stronger, fairer, and more connected.
What I stand for
Hamilton is a city with a lot to be proud of — from our world-class gardens to our vibrant public spaces. But when key services like roads, water, and community engagement fall short, people feel it. I’m standing for Hamilton City Council West Ward to make sure the essential services that keep our city running are protected, improved, and funded fairly.
Too often, the public only hears about council when something goes wrong. I believe in making council more visible, responsive, and connected — not through showy cuts, but through better planning, smarter funding tools, and deeper collaboration with the people of Hamilton.
As your representative, I’ll focus on:
- Attending meetings, briefings, and workshops as this is where the work of elected members happens, and it is important to make fully informed decisions
- Protecting core services like roading, water, and rubbish — the things we all rely on daily.
- Opposing short-sighted austerity that undermines service quality but does little to reduce rates.
- Pushing for fairer funding that helps meet community needs, not just financial targets.
- Improving public engagement so residents feel heard, not shut out.
- Supporting renters, young families, and overlooked communities, and ensuring council enables people to improve their own neighbourhoods.
Disagreeing with how money is spent doesn’t make it wasteful — it makes it political. I’m here to cut through the noise, focus on long-term solutions, and work with you to make Hamilton a city that’s fair, functional, and worth living in — for everyone.
